Through the Cronos Accelerator Program, Amazon Web Services (AWS), a cloud computing platform and subsidiary of e-commerce giant Amazon, is collaborating with Cronos Labs, the development team behind Cronos Chain, to scale and grow web3 startups.
Specifically, AWS will help expand and grow projects intending to offer solutions in decentralised finance (DeFi), GameFi, SocialFi, and Infrastructure applications.
Cronos, on the other hand, will use the Amazon Activate initiative to help aspiring web3 entrepreneurs build powerful projects in the space.
AWS Activate is a programme for projects that want to use Amazon’s infrastructure, such as web3 platforms.
Amazon offers free tools, support, and resources, as well as up to $100,000 in free Amazon credits.
Cronos is an open-source, proof-of-authority (POA), and interoperable blockchain that is compatible with the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) and Cosmos ecosystems.
The Cronos Accelerator Program was
started in 2022 and is backed with $100 million from Cronos Labs Ecosystem Fund to support “ongoing ecosystem development.”
Every year, 3-4 cohorts of 10 startups are formed. Developers go through a 14-week programme in which they are instructed and paired with mentors.
Google Cloud announced that it also was expanding its Google for Startups Cloud programme by including particular incentives for web3 projects that use rails.
