Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong says the US-based crypto exchange is ready to go to court against the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).
The announcement comes after Coinbase got a Wells Notice from the SEC last month, which stated that the agency was considering pursuing an enforcement action against the exchange for allegedly violating US securities laws.
According to Armstrong, the SEC failed in its responsibilities to provide clear market rules, so the court’s ruling is being used to obtain the necessary clarity.
Armstrong claims that they are prepared for a lengthy struggle with the SEC if the complaint drags on for years.
